2nd Xmas Card

Posted by Pixie at 1:34 PM 0 comments
This is my second Christmas Card I'm doing for my daughter's ECE classmates. I absolutely love The Greeting Farm stamps. ADORABLE!

I'm still trying to get a handle on using an X-acto knife, I definitely need a paper slicer because my lines are a big squiggly and not professional looking at all. But hey, who's looking that close anyway right :)

I need to follow sketches because sometimes I just throw papers around and they end up looking kinda weird. Sort of like this one ;)

I used:

The Paper Studio: Pink Armadillo paper pack with glitter.

Joann Limited edition: Peppermint Forest Stack (Snowflake)

Joann Limited edition: Peppermint Forest Stack (circled stars)

The Greeting Farm: Sweeties Stamp Pack

Glitter on Anya Stamp: Diamond Stickles

Ribbon: Craft Essentials in Hot Red

1st Xmas Card...

Posted by Pixie at 11:37 AM 0 comments
I decided to do some Christmas cards this year for my daughters class. I am an extremely newbie card maker. So my cards wont be that great. Which is a good thing because I have to do 18 cards. So I figure my kids last day of school is ON the 18 I can do I card a day, because just doing one card takes me like 5 hours to do :)

This is my first year of actually making hand made cards and actually passing them out. I did do "Happy Thanksgiving" cards and those were really fun to do and I got complimented on them so I was proud of myself so I thought I'd try doing more holiday cards. And christmas cards seem more entertaining since it's nothing but glitter and cute stamps!

This one is my first one. I got this idea from one of ---> PIXIE DUST STUDIO <--- gallery of pictures.

I used:

Hot Pink, Lime Green Cardstock (Don't know the brand, I just bought them from Hobby Lobby

EK Success Corner punch

Martha Stewarts Doily Lace Edge Punch

Digital Stamp: ---> PIXIE DUST STUDIO <--- "Twas the night before"

Colors: Martha Stewart Colored pencil set

Craft Essentials 1/4" in Hot Pink Ribbon

Pink Jewels

Cupcake Princess

Posted by Pixie at 6:58 PM 0 comments
I've been messing around with scrapbooking for a while and I just can't seem to really get the creativeness that I'm looking for. Here is one of my pages "Cupcake Princess". Or it could be I need more punches, chipboards, rub ons, maybe add some embossing on there.

New bag...

Posted by Pixie at 4:49 PM 0 comments
I got this tote at Hobby Lobby and wanted to upgrade it a bit so that I can carry the necessary things that I never think about carrying with me for my daughter.

I really wanted to use the pink fabric I had purchased to wrap it.

But I'm not sure If I added too much glue under the fabric or this fabric didn't want to be decoupaged to this kind of fabric but this wasn't working out. You see all those marks of glue seeping through, and then I added modpodge on TOP of it and it looked even worse. So the solution...Buy another one and start over.

This time I decided to use Folkart acrylic paint in #2850 Neon Pink all over and Folkart in #2241 Apple Green on the trim. I added Hot Topic stickers and here's my basic tote.

I still need to finish painting the inside of the handles, maybe even adding some ribbon, hmm don't know how that would look.

Not too shabby...

Posted by Pixie at 5:29 PM 0 comments
I am little by little trying to decorate my kids room and I went with pink and black. So I decided to give decoupage furniture a try. And I went big. I have had this little yard sale ugly little brown dresser for 4 yrs that is in my kids room.
I never thought about spray painting it or decoupaging it or anything until I started to release my inner craftiness.

I went to Hobby Lobby (LOVE THAT STORE) and found this fabric that goes well with the design of the same scrapbook paper I used to make the wall art.

I just cleaned off the dresser and just taped off the part I painted black with FOLKART ACRYLIC PAINT.

I just measured out whatever I was going to need and used MODPODGE to glue it all over.

I also bought this awesome pink fabric I was going to use to update a tote bag and noticed it would look great with the color scheme I was going for in her room so I incorporated it on the drawers, I took off those handles and painted them black, again with FOLKART PAINT. And this is the end result.

In total I spent $9.63
The black/white fabric was $5.49 a yard.
The pink fabric was on sale $4.14 a yard
I already had everything else.

It was lots of fun, it was FREE and the best of all while we were standing in line for 2 hrs the last few minutes that we were up next to go in the train, it started to RAIN like cats and dogs. Great day!

I want one...

Yesterday we went window shopping and we stopped by a LIDS store and my hubby had wanted to buy a hat that cost $35 bucks and I was thinking well damn if your going to spend that much might as well go big and better. Thinking YEA ED HARDY

and then I seen these..ooh soo pretty!

Christian Audigier does awesome work. Though buying his clothes make you look cool they will definitely leave you broke. Just a hat cost around $70. So one day I will afford a hat hahaha!
