Food for thought...

What I'm watching: Guys Big Bite

So he is making a Cedar Plank Salmon (Just the name sounds expensive) and Guid-Moc-Shoe. The Guid-Moc-Shoe you have to use all this ingredients

3 fresh corn on the cob, preferably white, with husk
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
1/4 pound bacon, diced
1 red onion, diced
1 yellow onion, diced
1/2 jalapeno, diced
3 celery stalks, diced
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 cup white wine
3/4 cup low-sodium chicken stock
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup Roma tomatoes, diced

just to throw some vegetables together.. I get that the point is to make vegetables more desirable to eat but come on.. I only have my husband, my daughter and myself to feed, do I really need to use 2 WHOLE onions and white wine?

This is all on the Food Network.. Now I like cooking and making great recipes but some of these recipes are like for special occasions or to feed 4-6 people. I think they need to add more budget friendly recipes.

Deserts is another thing, I would love to make cheesecakes or, chocolate cakes from scratch but I can barely make cupcakes out of the box to taste good.

But I guess I better learn it the Healthy way... Great Ex. of how food can be a good thing if you know how to eat it right..

Teresa Williams
Age: 27
Occupation: Medical assistant
Starting Weight: 310 lbs.
Why She Wanted to Lose the Pounds:

"I was sick of being 25 years old, huffing and puffing," says Williams, who lives in Burbank, Calif. "[I couldn't] even go up a flight of stairs without stopping to breathe. I hated shopping – I was a size 24. I wanted to have kids, I wanted to have a family. I wanted to live."

Weight Today: 150 lbs.!

"It's being able to do simple things that mean the most to me," says Williams, who loved swing sets as a child.

By her late teens, however, "my hips and thighs were too wide to swing without the metal part jabbing into my thighs." Now that she's lost 160 lbs., Williams says, "I'm like a little kid [at the playground!]

Amanda White
Age: 37
Occupation: Insurance Agent
Starting Weight: 335 lbs.
Why She Wanted to Lose Weight:

"One day I was coming up the stairs to my apartment," says White, who moved from Sri Lanka to the U.S. eight years ago, "I sat down on the couch, out of breath and I said to myself, 'Why are you doing this to yourself, Amanda?' There were nights when I was sleeping and I'd get up and pray, 'God, please don't kill me while I'm sleeping. Let me wake up in the morning for my little girl.'"

Weight Today: 145 lbs.!

After losing the weight, her daughter Simona, 13, told her, "I don't want to hurt you, but when you were fat, I couldn't put my arms around you to hug you." Says White: "That touched my heart so much. I did this for my daughter – but I wanted it for me."

So Sad...

© DTD / BuzzFoto

PEOPLE.COM, TMZ.COM and others are all reporting this SAD story of Britney Spears.

It seems that yesterday was one of Britney's scheduled visits, that when her time to return them was overdue Britney locked herself in a room with Jayden for almost three hours refusing to hand him over to Kevin.
One of Kevin's bodyguards already had put Preston in the car. When the police arrived and entered her closed gate home, they say she was under the influence of an unknown substance...

Don't they get it..this poor woman has and always had Postpartum Depression. ← (READ ABOUT IT). With every ones jokes, everyone in her face demeaning her or her ability to parent are mean comments that can always probably heighten her depression. And with the little support from family and the type of friends she had only made it worse.

For gods sake they even took her to the Medical Center, where they say she will be on a minimum of a 72-hour lock down for mental evaluation. It had never to do with drugs or alcohol. Why couldn't anyone just ever once think she had it? It's not a hush hush problem. So to not give it a name everone just assumes she's out of control, a druggie or an alcoholic? Are those better terms than to admit a celebrity (who's still a human being and a mother) has an actual illness?

Didn't her crazy behaviour start after her children were born? And articles like 'Britney said her kids were a mistake' is just horrible to say and I think all the MEDIA are also to blame for her recent actions and emotions.

I am a mother and I thank God that I didn't have to deal with this illness. But what everyone is doing to that poor woman is not fair and it's not right. You don't play with that illness and yet there is a camera on her face 24/7, with all those lights flashing at her face. Yea everyone says she's asking for it, because she's famous and everyone wants to know her life, but she's still a human being, leave her alone, I doubt there are still many fans who want to know when she went to taco bell or what party she went to for Halloween.

And don't get me started on Kevin Federline's lawyer!! OK I get she's sick but to ALWAYS be in a rush to take her kids away, to attempt to strip Spears of her visitation rights is just a bit over zealous. Where is all the law enforcement, where are the therapist, psychologist, or social worker to let her know about her problem or let the courts know? NOW they want to take her to the hospital for evaluation?

And no one is taking it serious..Just look at these idiots.

Fame Whores Crash Brit's Ambulance Ride

"The so-called Bandarazzi tried to make the best of Brit's disastrous evening -- by rocking out in front of Spears' ambulance --"
Watch the video HERE

Or this douche

"Bobby Trendy said he was holding a "visual" for Britney. Carrying a pic of Brit in his hands, while his associate held a photo of Anna Nicole, Trendy said they "don't want Britney to end up like the late Anna Nicole Smith."
Watch the video HERE

Other mothers are only on the news after they have harmed themselves or their children. For Britney being so famous she's already in the news and no one is helping. The news media the paparazzi, magazine editors and everyone has a part in making Britney's life spiral down. They are playing with someones who is already unstable..slowly all the media, ex husband, family members, so called friends, along with her illness is pushing her over the edge, and eventually everyone will have a hand in her self destruction and be somewhat at fault in her or her children's death.

Remakes...

Posted by Pixie at 12:12 PM 0 comments

What I'm listening too: Daddy Yankee 'Impacto'

What I'm watching: In a minute: Rachel Ray 30 minute meals

© Vanity Fair
"Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull"
This movie, though I haven't seen the actual trailer looks fun. First because I have loved (1 Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom ) movie. 2nd Shia is in it.

It's so funny to see the old movie who've made in impact in any movie lovers collection be made into 4th or 5th sequels after their time..there is Indiana

and this one...

Live Hard Die Free.
Which I did actually like

Or how about remakes..Some are better than the original

and then there are the ones they should have been left alone..

And of course there's One Missed Call being remade, It kinda does look a little better than the original.

And for heavens sake I hear they are going to remake my favorite movie of all time (which by the way someone still has to watch) FootLoose, with ugh Zac Efron as Ren... NOOOOOOOOOO!! Who was the idiot that thought this up? Doesn't he, like, sqweak or something. Wait, so he has been in TWO musicals..OMG what if they actually make this one into a musical too..

Kevin Bacon was so hott in that movie, and he dances oh so yummy! And even Kenny Loggins was my favorite music artist at the time.. Who can forget the soundtrack also for TopGun: Danger Zone.

Pink Eye...

What I'm listening to: My Child crying

What I'm watching: Law and Order: Criminal Intent

Feeling: My Unkymood Punkymood (Unkymoods)

Today we take Karla to the Pediatric Urgent Care Clinic because I've noticed her eye is swollen and her tugging at her ear. We are seen by a doctor who just looks pissed about having to work today. She walks in looks at her chart and says 'So, she has a cold.' Like saying 'That's why you're here?'

I normally don't take her to the hospital if I know it's just a regular cold. I go when I'm really concerned it's more. Come on, I see white gunk in the corner of her eye and she's tugging at her ear, I have to make sure she's OK.

She examines her and we ask her questions and she answerer's them flatly. She then tells us 'OK your daughter has pink eye and an ear infection', then walks out to give us our prescription and discharge papers. She doesn't ask us if we have any questions or is there anything else I can help with, nothing. She then says that toddlers never let the medicine (which is eye drops) near their eyes and that it will clear on it's own..Whether I give her the medicine or not.

So if we don't necessarily need it then why give it to us? She then tells us not to give her any cold medicine because it wont work, let the cold run it's course. I get that the medicine doesn't speed up her cold or take it away, but doesn't it help to make her feel a little better? Maybe to stop her runny nose even for an hour or to calm her itchy throat?

She also let us know that if this persists after 2 weeks to go to our own clinic to be checked up by her own doctor, in that flat voice of hers.. meaning don't come back to the hospital with just this cold.

So my experience at the hospital was not a good one and I'm very disappointed in this Pediatric doctor who should have a little more sympathy for sick children.

What I'm Listening to: Nothing right now..

Milo And Hayden go public- Sort of...

Back in September, rumor spread like wildfire that Heroes co-stars Hayden and Milo were looking awfully close, and most of you agreed that they were probably a couple. After a few months of deny, deny, denying the rumors, we thought maybe we had all jumped to conclusions. However, People is now reporting that Milo and Hayden are hotter than ever and aren't keeping their romance a secret anymore.

"Hayden's mom adores Milo. She thinks he's so cute. She [Hayden] tells her friends that he's her boyfriend. She's very proud. They're very affectionate and very comfortable around each other. He really takes care of her, even down to the little things like giving her a back massage and going with her to work."

I guess this means it's time for those of us who were in denial to face the facts that Milo and Hayden are really an item.

POPSUGAR

I used to watch Heroes the 1st season like religiously, I mean it was ALMOST taking my #1 spot of favorite shows over Grey's Anatomy, but I don't know after it came back on Season 2, it just wasn't as appealing anymore to watch..
